Ivan Le Terrible ( Paris. France)
Ivan Le Terrible is a stalwart of the French garage scene, running Born Bad record store in Paris during years, co-owner of the now defunct Wild Wild Recs. and bass player of many French bands, including the cult punk band The No-Talents, the 60′s Garage Ye Ye band Les Terribles & his most recent one the wild rock'n'roll band Chrome Reverse.
Record dealer, Dj, digger, owner of an amazing record collection, several hot-rods, Nortons, Triumphs, Lambrettas, Vespas and smoker of curly cigars ! Definitly more on the rocker side, he was with us for the first edition of Deep Cliffs in 2016 and also made some dj apperance at the Boiler weekender in Barcelona, the Funtastic Dracula weekender in Valencia, the Hipville Weekend in U.K, and many others. He'll bring with him that rockin R&B sound he loves !

Renowned international DJ and well know 45rpm record seller since the late 90s , Laurent is a reference about European soul 45s. Living now on a cliff in south Portugal, he’s been collecting soul 45s & LPs in a very large way, from R&B to modern soul, with a big soft spot for Latin Soul and crossover. Over the last 10 years, he has played out at most of the major worldwide Soul and Mod events, using theses travels to dig rare soul all over America & Europe. Resident Dj and main man behind the Deep Cliff Soul weekender, he'll be one of those in charge to make you dance on the boat party and the saturday alldayer... and probably the last set of the allnighters !

I grew up on the west side of San Antonio TX. Now I live in the frozen city of St. Paul Minnesota in the northern part of USA. The winters up here can be brutal but they have had a positive effect on my life too. The cold has taught me to appreciate things that I took for granted down south in Texas. That's why I jumped at the opportunity to dj at the first ever Deep Cliffs Soul weekender in south Portugal.
The weekender promised sunshine, beaches, dancing into the wee hours and lots of something called Superbock. Well, it lived up to every expectation and more, which is why I was happy to be invited back this year. No doubt it'll be amazing all over again.
My personal tastes in records are all across the board from 50's to the 80's. For this occasion I intend to play things that fit the Deep Cliffs vibe. That'll include sweet soul (firme rolas only :-) ), xover, and a heavy dose of soul from my adopted home of Minnesota.

Music lover and record collector, I was first introduced to blue beat & ska by a skinhead older than me back in the 80's...Not long after that I visited the legendary Paris reggae record shop located on the boulvevard Saint-Germain called Blue-Moon ( long time gone...) and headed back home with a bunch of original studio one singles... Then I started ( and never stopped since) to dig for some others obscure reggae records while all my mates where into their Oi! and punk phase !! LOL . I'm "aussi" really into Blues, R&B, Jazz & Blue Note, specialy West Coast Jazz like Pacific Jazz label... When I'm not listening or looking for records, I just spend my time enjoying wine, food , my english bull terrier, family and buddies .
It was a pleasure to spin some records last year at Deep Cliffs Weekender, and I was very happy peoples loved my Reggae and Ska selection, the whole weekend was a blast !!! no doubt this year will be a great moment "encore" !!

Hailing from the Scunthorpe riveira, I've found myself in London for the past several years collecting colourful 70s & 80s sounds and trying my hand at putting on a few club nights too. Currently piecing a few things together for my label Symphonical Records which, still in it's infancy, releases unissued material from back in the day, whilst doing the odd DJ gig and co-promoting 'Reel To Reel', a disco club in Barcelona.

Very happy to return to attend this second edition of the Deep Cliffs Soul Weekender and to be able to select some 45's for the occasion. Many of you already know me, others not so much. I'm from Barcelona, I started collecting records when I met the mod scene in the late 90's. In recent years I have specialized in collecting 45's of rare soul, which is basically what I'm going to play this Deep Cliffs Soul Weekender. I really want to surround myself with good friends, listen to good music, and also to taste good local food, as it was last year. Counting the days to fly to the Algarve and its fantastic beaches. I started collecting Soul 45s in the mid 80’s, and started DJing with these things maybe ten years later. Now I’m a regular on one of the big weekenders in germany, The Soul Shakers Weekender“ in Bamberg. I do DJ occasionally outside germany, I was a guest DJ in Italy, Sweden, USA, Spain, UK, and Portugal. I love my Northern sides as much as the 70’s and early 80’s records and I like it funky too. I still collect soul music only in it’s original format and I surely won’t Stop doing it, as there’s nothing, that thrills me more than a quality soul 45, that I have never heard before.

I’m happy to be returning to the Deep Cliffs Weekender. It’s going to be a happy reunion of friends in the best setting imaginable. I was born in Northern California, now residing in Seattle Washington. I’m probably most associated with Seattle’s Emerald City Soul Club, however I try to keep busy organizing diverse music events ranging from American garage punk to rocksteady and sweet soul. I started spinning records with my middle brother Tom around the mid-to-late 90s. We hated the club music at the time (IDM, turntablism, basically the bad jazz fusion of our generation), and wanted to hear older and more uptempo music as a soundtrack to our late teens/early 20s social lives. That led to 60s mod/garage/international beat and obviously soul and funk 45s. Lotus Land, our store (and eventually label) opened in 2001 and connected us to many more like-minded DJs both nationally and internationally. I made my first DJ trip over to U.K. in 2003 and really had my eyes opened to the differences in how the music was perceived, danced to, and marketed. After starting the band Kings Go Forth a few years later and subsequently touring quite a bit worldwide, the friends and colleagues I've made via soul music number in the hundreds, a scene which truly enriches my life daily. These days I'm mostly digging for records per usual, working on rare black music licensing projects, and also spending countless hours on my parallel passion, plant-based cooking.

Hi, my name is Jordi and, together with Cristina, i’ve been running the Boiler Club in Barcelona for well over a decade. I’ve been fortunate to play my records all over Europe, both in clubs and in festivals. I’ve also comped a few LPs, the last one being ‘Tremblin’’. I must confess that i get a big kick designing the covers, which is my trade. I usually mix lesser known tracks with a couple of the big ones that got us hooked in the first place. Yep, the hits that no one seems to spin anymore. I hope i don’t get sick on the boat.
