The Big Happy Show in NTS Radio
Mr. Big Happy is originally from Central CA and has been living in San Francisco for almost 20 years. He is a graphic designer, artist and music archivist.
His teenage years as a graffiti artist started his record collecting journey through hip-hop culture and grew his love for finding lesser-known and obscure music. Since then, he’s dedicated his time to finding records all across the country, having conversations with the artist, learning about the music scenes in regional locations - all to connect dots between genres. Big Happy spotlights his findings on his monthly show on NTS radio - The Big Happy Show. He plays all around San Francisco and across the country from LA, NYC, Miami, Chicago, Memphis, Detroit, St. Louis and all the way down to Mexico City.
Questlove referred to him as a DJs DJ’s DJ.
He will be serving up Wax Candy rare and obscure soul, funk, boogie and disco from the late 70’s to 80’s.

So excited to be coming back to Deep Cliffs and really looking forward to spinning a few records along with everyone.

I'm marc , and here are a few things about me. I was born in a french west coast town with a strong 60's mod identity. Is thus I naturaly join the "mod trip" when I was teenager. It was a time of my first concerts, events and first record purchases especially blues, jazz, soul and jamaican. Lulled for years by beautiful american black voices and electric english sound i started to play records in Marseille where i was living, at the time I was in a DJ duet called the rockin soul brothers, and focused on Blues and Rhythm & blues. With Time i had the opportunity to play records in the four corner of France and sometimes abroad. My musical tastes has since opened to soul, funk, boogaloo late 60’s and early 70’s. It 's a great pleasure to participate at this famous weekender sharing music and meeting exceptionnal people on an awesome place.
